FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CIRCA PINTIG KICKS-OFF YOUTH OUTREACH SUMMER PROGRAM Chicago, IL - CIRCA-Pintig, a Chicago based theater and cultural organization, announces its summer youth outreach program. The program, which will be open to children of all ages, will have its kickoff reception and information session on Saturday, May 2, 2009, 1-4:30 pm at the Naperville Library on 95th Street and Route 59 in Naperville. CIRCA-Pintig will conduct a series of art workshops that will include group dynamics, characterization and rules of improvisation, creative writing story telling, and visual arts. Participants will meet every Saturday for the 12-week program which will culminate in a theater production in which the students will showcase their skills in acting, singing, dancing, writing and visual arts. This program provides a unique opportunity for budding young artists to learn not only theater skills, but other skills related to backstage work and organization. It also gives them a chance to “share their work with a larger audience”. The project is part of CIRCA-Pintig's aim to “promote artistic and educational programs for youth and children providing them with a more dynamic sense of cultural and artistic legacies within immigrant and ethnic communities”. The Youth Outreach Suburban Advisory Board is composed of Edwin Marquez, Caroline Castro-Arvis, Malu Lorenzo-Dela Cruz, and Patti Lorenzo-Encarnacion. The workshops will be led by experienced facilitators Daisy Castro, Ariel Arvis, Ashley Arvis, and Randy Maguigad, as well as other CIRCA-Pintig instructors. Actual workshop dates are June 6 to August 22, 2009 at the Naperville Cultural Center. For more information, send an e-mail to circatheater@yahoo.com. or call (312) 353-0138.
